Kermit Walker, the assistant track and field coach at Southwestern Oregon Community College, is a repeat American Masters Outdoor Track & Field champion. Battling lung cancer, Kermit has completed thirty rounds of radiation and five chemotherapy treatments. When asked how long he plans to compete, the 81-year-old replies “as long as I can breathe.”
Pedro Marquez, an alumnus of Seattle Central College, is working to complete his bachelor's degree at the University of Washington after overcoming various obstacles in the beginning of his academic career.
